So this is a healthy option to a favourite snack/ party food. I do have to warn you in advance the crisps will be seen as a tweek in Slimming World and it is advised that you syn them the same as you would a packet of crisps.
(a tweek is something you create to substitute a fuller fat version. I know slimming is all about making a healthier version but a tweek as far as I’ve been told is to stop over indulgence. In theory these are syn free but if you had this in mind and munched your way through a bag of potatoes worth of these tasty treats they still contain empty calories. So if your having them limit them to a small amount. Warning though they are very moreish.)
To make the crisps I used a small gadget my mum bought me. It has a slicer, a rack and a bowl.
1 large potatoes
schwartz Jamaican Jerk seasoning
Slice your potato and I normally just leave the skin on. Spray with fry lite and place in the rack – 1 slice of potato in each slot. Microwave for around 5 mins in a 700w (if you have a different watt microwave just watch them till the crisps going golden brown).
Take them out and whilst still hot sprinkle the seasoning over. Hey presto it’s as easy as that….
Now for the dip, this is my own recipe I created tonight for my slimming world taster session tomorrow. I was looking to see how easy it would be to create a slimming world version of nacho cheese dip. I am happy with the result and my husband approves too. 😁
Primula original cheese whole tube
300g 0% fat natural yoghurt
1 tsp garlic salt
2 large gherkins
Red jalapeños from jar (choose amount to your own taste)
Again this is an easy one. Finely chop the gherkins and jalapeños. Then mix all ingredients together. Leave it in the fridge for a few hours before serving and this will let the flavour intensify.
It’s 6 syns for 60g of the Primula cheese or have it as a healthy extra A (for all non slimming world readers – this is your daily calcium intake. It’s syn free as long as it’s within your food optimising)
